Our idea: "Know your Routes"
Things we're hoping to enable:
- People sharing, and learning, things about the stuff they pass on their commute route
- People who commute a similar route at a similar time, walking together.
- Encourage people with similar drives to carpool together?
Stage 1: Gathering Ideas
First we brainstormed about different means of commuting, and their respective merits/pitfalls.
Stage 2: Developing the Features
We decided that "Know Your Route" is an awesome name, which addresses a compelling problem - how can people make their journeys to work more interesting? What buildings and people do they pass that they might want to learn more about? Based on this, we brainstormed some features that we thought would be appropriate.
Stage 3: Presentation Numero Uno
As the time 'Interim presentation/feedback phase' drew closer, we made a quick presentation (featuring beautiful illustrations by Wes) to show off the basic premise of the app.
Stage 4: Protoyping
Based on some sample users that we improvised stories for, we started drawing up prototypes (first in Illustrator, but then on paper).
We got some feedback from mentor Jon about our protoypes, which we subsequently refined.
Stage 5: Vindication
