The New Idea
Slow Coach - Enjoy the journey
"We are always in a hurry but, that means we miss out on some of the great things along our journey".
Slow coach shows you ways to get something more from your commute.
Discover the world in your journey
- Find things to do while waiting for connections - Find new routes that enhance your day - Stuck at Reading for another half an hour? Relax and checkout a local art installation instead of sitting at the station. - Suggests something new every time
Method
Step 1: Use transport direct's routing engine to provide a wide variety of routes including car, walking, bus, train etc.
Step 2: Look at the 'downtime' available in every route
Step 3: Find POI that may be of interest along the route
Step 4: Suggest POI according to type and downtime along route
Step 5: Profit!
Screens
Extensions
* Mobile alerts when transport running late * Login for crowd sourced information - leads to more accurate and relevant results (e.g. the café that gives a good view of the bus stop)
The Original idea
- Lost 45min as we had to change the original idea.
Smart Commute (is my commute stupid?)
As a user of public transport who wants to enhance their dreary commute using Smart Commute. For regular public transport commuters it provides a way of discovering the most efficient and most enjoyable routes and location using a crowd sourced database of commuting routes.
Arriving at the idea
* General chaos * Setting up a bunch of ideas * Talking about ideas * Voting on one idea * Researching idea and existing applications with synergy * Developing the concept of the idea
Other apps with some similarities
- Tom Tom Live
- Zoom Around Town
- Chromorama
